Slow Cooker Hamburger Stew

Enjoy this hearty stew on a chilly autumn or winter evening. Add black pepper for an extra kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 90% lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup carrot, chopped
  • 2 cups potatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes
  • 4 cups water
  • oregano, basil, or other herbs (1/2 teaspoon, optional)

Directions

  1. Wash hands with soap and water.
  2. Brown ground beef in a medium fry pan. Drain fat.
  3. Place beef, chopped vegetables, tomatoes, and water in slow cooker.
  4. Cook on low 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours.
