Vinaigrette Salad Dressing
Making your own salad dressing is quick and easy. You can start out with this basic recipe and adapt as needed to fit the ingredients of your salad and your preferences. Mix the vinaigrette in a bowl with a fork or whisk, or shake it in a jar with a tight-fitting lid.
Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons vegetable oil (olive, canola, avacado, or cooking oil of choice)
- 4 tablespoons vinegar (cider, balsamic, or red wine vinegar)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard (yellow, dijon, or brown mustard)
Directions
- Wash hands with soap and water.
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Serve.

Sweet Vinaigrette (Basic Vinaigrette recipe plus)
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
Italian Vinaigrette (Basic Vinaigrette plus)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed
Honey Mustard Vinaigrette (Basic Vinaigrette plus)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon or spice mustard
- 2 teaspoons honey*
*Children under the age of one should not consume honey.
